 Overheating in an electrical circuit is mainly caused due to contact resistance or overloading. While there may be other reasons, these are the two primary reasons observed during  thermographic surveys. Thermal Imaging assists in viewing these hot spots before they turn into an outage or a potentially dangerous situation like fire.
